But the Dyson story has something else to teach us, about how innovation starts, and where breakthrough ideas actually come from. The story of how Dyson got his original idea, along with those of other iconic innovators, like Harry Beck and Steve Jobs to name but two, all have one thing in common: their insirations came from outside of their own fields, industries and disciplines.
