NCVO Conference 2020.

20
Apr 2020

On April 20th 2020 Martyn will be speaking at the annual conference for the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

Thinking differently about income generation

The way charities generate income is changing. People are choosing to support causes in different ways, with mass movements, ethical consumerism and crowdfunding all growing in popularity. Meanwhile, regulatory and technological change are having an impact on the nature of charity / donor relationships. Recent years have also witnessed an increasingly competitive environment for other sources of income, at a time when public sector budgets have become squeezed and demand for support has grown.

In this session we’ll hear from experts in the fields of earned income generation, social investment, and fundraising on how charities can adapt and evolve in a rapidly changing funding environment. We will explore some of alternative income generation options available to charities and the key trends that fundraisers should be responding to in the coming years.

Martyn's talk will focus on developing the 50% of sector income that is earned commercially, through trading, and will address the critical and timely topic of how business thinking can dramatically increase non-profit income.

Tickets for the conference are available through the NCVO website.
